First names. I would never call them “mom” or “dad” because I have my own parents and calling them Mr. and Mrs. is just strange to me. I know some people do it, but I never could.

Ask him what he wants you to call him!

I also call by first names as well.  Even my Fiance doesn’t call my parents “mom and dad” (and he’s closer to my parents than I am with his).

My father calls him “son” though.  Its funny.  But, my mother made it very clear that “mom” would not fly.  She has enough kids.  lol

I refer to them as “Mom” and “Dad” when talking to my husband, but usually when speaking to them, I’ll say their first name.

I have my own mom and my dad passed away so I’m not calling anyone else dad. I call my Future Mother-In-Law and Future Father-In-Law by their first names.

I address them by their first names now so probably will stick with that after I marry Fiance.

I would much rather address them by their first names. They used to address themselves as Mr. and Mrs. So-and-so when they’d talk about each other in front of me. Now, they call themselves Mom S and Dad S (first initial of last name). This is what my FI’s sister-in-law came up with when they told her that she could call them “Mom and Dad” if she wanted. She didn’t feel comfortable with that, so she came up with this. I don’t feel comfortable calling them by those names, but I don’t know if the first name will fly. So, it’s still “Mr. and Mrs.” until I hear otherwise.

Another reason I’m looking forward to kids…I can then just use “Grandma and Grandpa”!

Usually I don’t say their names, but when I do it’s their first names.  When I’m talking to Darling Husband I say “your dad” rather than their names though.  Darling Husband is the same way with my parents.  Neither of us would ever call the inlaws mom or dad since we have our own parents.

you should add another option to the poll, ‘Mom LastName and Dad Lastname’. right now I mostly use avoidance 🙂 but that is what I plan to go with after the wedding next month.

Their first names for sure. Not comfortable enough nor will I ever think I will be. Even my FI’s sister’s husband calls them by their first name and they’ve been married for about 10 years now.

it is crazy to me how many people are soo comfortable with first names! both my Fiance and  i come from families where it would be considered horribly, horribly offensive to use first names. it just doesn’t happen!

i wanted to vote for more than one.. when we eventually get married i plan to call her “Ma” cos thats what he calls her.. but for now, I kinda just avoid calling her, cos i think its a bit disrespectful to call her by her first name

First names, but it took me awhile before I’d call them anything at all. 😉

Mom and Dad.  They accepted a pregnant teenaged girlfriend as their own, didn’t shun me or make me feel bad or stupid or irresponsible and deserve the titles since they’re absolutely amazing people!
