congrats to him on getting braces!   Friend in his 50s just got them after years of saxophone playing messed his up and I just think he is so cool for investing in his teeth.

Couple time, special meal, and/or just plain telling my husband how aweseom he is usually does the trick.

softdrink77 :  if he’s just got braces (and also when he has them tightened) a simple thing might be to make soft meals for a few days while the aching subsides. Things like mashed potato, porridge, scrambled eggs… things that don’t require too much chewing.

To specifically answer your question – my husband is happiest after I’ve cooked one of his favourite meals, had a blowjob while paying on the PlayStation and drinking a beer. If I’m not feeling the cooking or the blowjob, I take him to his favourite restaurant, give him a back rub, flash him or let him have a boob cuddle.

As others have said, cook a nice meal, get him his favorite beer or hard alcohol, write him a short letter telling him how awesome he is/all the things you love about him, massage while he’s playing video games or watching tv, lots of scratchies, bj and then end with a nice cuddle. When my hubby has had a particularly bad day, I’ll do all of these things in a day.

softdrink77 :  everybody has covered all the other stuff but from a practical perspective to help with the pain, I found that applying creams aimed at teething babies to my gums helped with the pain associated with my initial braces application and following the tightening appointments. Maybe get him a tube of bonjela (or whatever its called in your country) to help with the pain.

– Mrs fields cookie cake (small one) or any favorite treats he likes. There is also an italian bakery in the next town over that i sometimes go to get him a little something

– bring home his fav take out dinner or go out for dinner

– My Darling Husband is into anything Nike so i might swing by and get a pair of shorts or a shirt for him

softdrink77 :  I feel like frozen daquiris or some pina coladas may be in order. Something cold and slushy for his mouth but also a little boozy to make him forget his mouth hurts!
