We called our parents and grandparents and texted or called our siblings and really close friends. Then we just posted it on facebook…seemed to work well, no one was “left out” or upset they didn’t get a phone call (or if they were, they never said anything).

We were away when he proposed, so I called my parents.  My Mom literally called everyone she knows as soon as she hung up and word spread like that.  Within an hour I was getting ‘congratulations’ calls.  =)

When we got back we did the facebook relationship status change just because we could lol.

We called all the close family members right away. And we told FI’s grandparents when we got home from our trip, in person. After we told everyone in the family, we just posted it on facebook. It actually took a while to get in touch with everyone over the phone, so it wasn’t on facebook for awhile.

We called our immediate families and asked them to spread the word throughout the extended families and then we called all of the friends we could/wanted to tell personally and then after that was all done we just changed our relationship status on facebook.
