Basically there’s a member of FI’s family that we visited a few weeks ago. Normally this person and I get along very well. However, one or two things happened during the visit (not going into detail for anonymity!). I’m not sure if these things were picked up on by this person, or if they even mattered, but since the visit I have not spoken to FI’s family member. This is a bit unusual. I sent a friendly IM last week and was only met with the response “I’m busy.” Very unlike said person.
I want to know if something’s up because I get really anxious when I think somebody’s annoyed with me, and I’d also like to fix it if something IS wrong. But how do you ask without sounding needy or paranoid (in a “Do you hate me?!?!?” kinda way)? And how do you ask without naming specifics, just in case the things that happened weren’t really noticed? Should I just send an email and say “Haven’t spoken to you in aa few weeks, did I do something wrong/offensive on the visit?”
