red jewel jet!  Its a steam cleaner.  Before i steam it i put it in a cup with warm water and a few drops of dawn.  Then i use a baby toothbrush to clean.  The i fire up the Jewel Jet…then i blow dry it so i dont have water spots..LOL

Day to day I use the aforementioned red jar of cleaner and the little brush. Once a week, I drop any jewelry that I’ve worn into a sonnicator Fiance bought me and fill it with tap water and a drop of dish detergent.

The gemologist who did my appraisal gave me some jewelry cleaner and a polishing cloth. They will clean it professionally for me when I bring it in for inspection every 6 months, but I’ve found I love how sparkly my ring is when it’s clean, so I have been cleaning it every couple of weeks or so

@slytherinvixen:  I drop my jeweler about every 3 months but when I do it at home, they said they’ve never seen anything work better than shaving cream and a soft toothbrush. I have to agree!  Works way better than the red container stuff I got at walmart!

@slytherinvixen:   it works fabulously!  I also always dry it with a microfiber cloth 🙂

My jeweler said toothpaste is ok, but I wouldn’t use it all the time. I use an electric toothbrush and dish soap.

I bring white vinegar and a little bit of dish soap to a boil then let cool down a bit and let my ring and tennis bracelet soak for a few hours. Works beautifully!

Be careful using non professional grade ultra sonic machines especially if your jewelry sits on the bottom of it and is physically vibrated. Over time, your stones will loosen. Jewelry is placed on a rack or basket in professional ulta sonic machines and the ultra sonic vibrations make tiny bubbles that do the cleaning without shaking your rings/jewelry.

SunflowerGarden:  Haha! I have a baby toothbrush just for my ring too, but it has Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog on it.

I use a “Diamond Dazzle stik”.

My mother sometimes soaks her rings in Vodka for 10 minutes then with a soft bristle toothbrush to scrub it – rinse it off with the vodka again and then dries it with a Q-tip. I’m sure it’s just an excuse to take some cheeky swings of vodka but her gems always look sparkly.
