He told me – but he was wrong! He said it was .70 carat, but the receipt and appraisal certificate says it’s .55, so I’m not sure where he got that number ๐Ÿ™‚

Tiffany stamps their rings with carat size on the inside of the ring – so I knew without having to ask! We also have the paperwork for insurance too, so that’s important.

@emtee:  If it has more than one diamond, it may be that .7 was the total carat weight, and not just the weight for the center stone.

He told me how much he wanted to spend and let me pick out the ring myself, so therefore I know all the “stats” on it.

We had it appraised. I don’t think he even knew, it’s a family diamond so he didn’t buy it.

He gave me the certificate for it so I could put it on the house insurance.

He told me, and it’s also on the certificate that came with the ring.

I know my carat size, and everything else, because he bragged about it and told me everything after he proposed. He was so proud ๐Ÿ™‚

he told me. But not til about a week after he gave it to me! (I’m not very good with sizes myself, and I had reason to believe that it was 2 carats, but then he told me it was 1.5, which I’m quite happy about, cuz the modesty in me makes me more comfortable to tell that to people! )

He told me the carat wt of the center stone, but I am not sure the TW when you count the sides stones (it’s a 3 stone ring, but center is much larger)
