My husband and I can’t agree on any furniture! His style is Mediterraneanish and very warm tones….and mine is classic elegance and I much prefer neutrals and cool tones. They are so different. And it is just causing so many arguments. He says my style is snobbish and to fancy, and the things he picks out looks old ladyish and seriously looks like everything they carry in Wal-Mart with the weird maroons and browns. I just don’t know what to do, I want us to both me represented in the house but there’s really not much we can do to blend both styles.

@Minirayray: I would try and agree on major pieces – find a couch you can both live with in a neutral tone, and then use accent pieces that bring out your styles. I think that you can blend styles nicely by strategically picking pieces that have little things in common and not trying to be matchy matchy.

@Minirayray: what type of furniture are you looking to purchase? What type of furniture, decor are you trying to blend?

@Minirayray: My husband has no desire to do any work in actually finding pieces. I just kept showing him things I liked. If he turned something down, I would ask why to know what he didnt like about it and used to find other things. “too snobbish” isn’t a reason. You need details. Eventually I would find something he liked, or he stopped caring and gave in to whaetver I wanted.

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
We work like this:
I pin images I like to my various, room-specific pinterest boards. Then I go back and edit to make sure I really like the images. next. Mr. Lk looks through the images and selects the ones that he likes. We examine the elements together, and then I research options that are similar to those elements that will actually work in our space. We select the individual elements from those options. And done.
I know I like it, because i’m the one who originally put it into the mix, and he knows he likes it because he gets to select from my curated universe without pressure from me.

More options for both like a pp did/ does. You can suggest a few different say coffee tables. & he can narrow it down. Dh doesn’t really care , though. Though sometimes he’ll love something I love which makes me excited :3
