- Wedding: May 2012
We knew we wanted a destination wedding from the start, but choosing the place is the most difficult. Both places we’re looking at are very sentimental and imporant to us.
We live in Denver and are exploring Aspen and getting married on top of the mountain. It’s a beautiful location, but to keep in our budget we would need to do a lunch wedding that would end at 4pm, then we were thinking about getting everyone together at a bar later that evening. My concern here is are we going to lose the fun? http://www.thelittlenell.com/colorado-weddings/wedding-deck-location.aspx
Our second option is a beautiful victorian mansion in Sonoma County CA. For slightly more money, we would have an evening wedding with dinner by a top rated restaurant, and once the staff leaves at 11pm, we would be able to continue the party, bring out our own drinks and celebrate as long as we wish. This place is slighly more, but still in our budget range, and it’s hard to say how many people wouldn’t come because it means a plane trip instead of a car ride (however I know the imporant people will be there). http://www.madronamanor.com/
Or do we just go simple with 20 people on a beach somewhere and save the money for an extravagent honeymoon?
What do you think??
