So we have pretty much settled on the name Cooper unless we fall madly in love with another name, which we dont think we will. But we are kinda stuck on a middle name. We only want him to have one middle name and the two, we have narrowed it down too are both family names.
So we could go Cooper Clifford, which is my grandfather first name or Cooper Bradley, which is my Darling Husband mothers maiden name. DH’s middle name was to be Bradley but for some reason they changed it last minute and have always regreted it.
I perfer Clifford as I went to school with a Bradley and he was so naughty! But I know it would mean a lot to Mother-In-Law.
What does everyone think? How did everyone settle on a middle name?

My honest opinion is that Cooper Clifford does not sound good together and Cooper Bradley sounds silly since I instantly thought of the actor Bradley Cooper.

I am sorry but the only thing I think of when I hear Clifford is – Clifford the big red dog.

Well I immediately thought to vote Bradley, but then I read your post and I wouldn’t think anything other than the actor Bradley Cooper. I don’t love Clifford either, I’m sorry!

I think Cooper Bradley flows better than Cooper Clifford.

@kiwichick15: What about having Cooper be the middle name?

I think it’s good to go sentimental, so I personally think Clifford is the best choice (it’s my mother maiden name actually!)
If we have a girl, we’re going to call her Alexa Dove, Dove being my grandmother’s maiden name.
I personally wouldn’t pick Bradley – that’s your MIL’s wish, and the child is yours, not hers. You haven’t said what DH’s take on it is, so perhaps he can be the deciding factor?

Just going off personal experience, but I have a friend named Cooper and I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone call him anything but Pooper.

I also think of Clifford the big red dog when I hear that name. I’m a teacher and my class are blessed with those books.
not a huge fan of either name but definitely would pick Bradely over Clifford

Cooper Clifford sounds like a law firm. My maiden name was very close to Clifford, and people always used to call me Clifford the big red dog. Not a fan at all.
I also think that Cooper Bradley just reminds me of Bradley Cooper. Not really a fan, but prefer it to Clifford.

Well, we plan to use Bradley as our son’s middle name (if we have one) so that gets my vote! I actually suggested Cooper Bradley to my husband but he doesn’t like the name Cooper. Haha.
