It’s actually the silver, not the rhodium, that will react to cleaners. You could try cleaning the whole ring with soap and water, and then using a q-tip dipped in the sonic cleaning solution to clean just the blue topaz. Lovely ring!

I soak mine in a mixture of Dawn dish soap and hot water (hot enough that you can stick your finger in, but not too hot) for about 5-10 minutes while I do other stuff around the house, then when I take it out I dip a soft bristled toothbrush in the soapy water and scrub away!  Take your time to scrub all the areas you can reach, the soak should help loosen dirt, and you should be sparkly as new.

Some people say to do a quick scrub with the brush BEFORE soaking…but I always do it after out of habit.  Maybe try both??
