I used the swiffer system for wood…or the Bruce hardwood cleaner (my floors are Bruce brand HW). One of my friends has a steam mop that he swears by though so I am looking in to getting one of those.

Shark steam mop! They even make a special “duster” thats perfect for hardwood.  I started using swiffer system but it left spots AND I read its bad for animals.

I use a steam mop as well, sometimes I add a drop of essential oil to the water to make it smell nice!

I always used to use Murphy’s oil soap, but in this house we have gorgeous maple flooring and I didn’t want to ruin it.  This is what I found:

Thanks for the clear instructions. As someone who has been involved in floor refinishing, I have an appreciation for how much work this was but it sure was worth it. The floor looks beautiful. Therefore, I want to paint my wood floor, in a diamond pattern alternating between stain and paint. Thanks for sharing…

We vaccume and then use The Bona cleaner.  It may be unnecessary and over priced but thinking of the money we put into the real hardwoods its worth it use something safe and that works!
