People making disparaging remarks about their erings when they see yours?
The ladies in my family and the ladies in FI’s family have beautiful rings selected by their husbands with the most love and care. Each and every ring represents each beautiful woman that wears it. I love to see everyone’s erings now that I’m engaged and hear the stories of how their husbands proposed. I find it to be a really fun conversation and doesn’t everyone love a good happy ending?
I spent some time with a few ladies yesterday who commented on my ering and then they started to make rude remarks about their rings! (One lady’s husband was sitting right there!) I tried to say how beautiful their rings were and I genuinely meant it! But they were just like “Oh yeah right, my diamond is smaller than one of your sidestones!” And similar remarks. Um, okay, maybe, BUT your husband saved for that ring and picked it out to present to you when he asked you to be his wife! And that within itself makes it beautiful and something to be cherished.
Have any of you come across this? How do you deal with it? What can I say to prove that I’m being genuine when I say that their rings are beautiful?
