Okay, I’m a dork. I was looking up a couple of websites to look for stuff for my new apartment (BTW – the move on Tuesday went great!) Anyways, I stumbled over links for Christmas decor, etc. Now I’m so excited and really want to start buying things so I can decorate after Thanksgiving. Yeah, I know. I have PLENTY of time. 😛
Anyways, I read my lease yesterday just to review some things. One of my plans was to hang the light up snowflakes in my window since I can’t decorate the outside. Unfortunately, that’s not allowed so I am super bummed. There’s plenty of ways I can make this apartment feel the Christmas spirit, but I want to add some lights somewhere. I have a few ideas, but I love seeing how creative everyone can be!
As the title asks: How do you decorate your apartment? Have any pictures to share from last year? 🙂
Websites with ideas will work just as well!

Last year, Fiance and I set up our little 4 ft tree by the front window and changed up the pillows on the couch lol. I love christmas, but it is hard when you are renting and there are restrictions 🙁

I’m having a smaller sized Christmas tree and will hang a wreath on my door. I love Christmas, but actually don’t enjoy decorating too much. Seems like a lot of work to have to take it down a month later.

It really is hard! I’ll find some alternatives though.
Ah, I’m a decorating/holiday freak. I don’t mind it whatsoever. I just get super bummed when it’s all over because all the pretty stuff gets put away. Hahah.
I LOVE your table set up and tree. Seriously, Fiance is going to hate me when he sees how much I love to decorate and such. I take after my mom.

that’s in an apartment?! It looks like a huge house!
We had an apartment 2 years ago…and we got a mini fake tree and put up some lights. We didn’t do too much else…and last year we were in the process of unpacking our house/remodeling so we didnt even put up a tree!

I should mention it’s our first Christmas in our own place so I guess that’s why I’m really excited and want to do what I can. 🙂 Especially because the gifts part of it will be slim to none this year.

Aww, that sucks that you have so many restrictions. Our apartment let us do whatever. We had lights all over! We also had a 4 foot treet on our coffee table.
Maybe put lights in your living room, but avoid the windows? I also used window clings.
Try hitting up Khol’s the day after Thanksgiving- they have a 50% off sale every year and have lots of cute stuff– stocking hangers, picture frames, trees, ornaments…

I usually do a wreath on our door, some little knick knacks on shelves in the house and a pretty Christmas-y centerpiece on our dining room table.

we actually own a duplex. We live in one side and rent the other. It’s an old victorian that DH really did an amazing job on. The apt is about 1100sq ft. The community spaces are big but the 2 bedrooms and only bathroom are quite small. We’re in the process of searching for a single family home now.

When I was in a condo I did a little 3′ artificial tree (from Michael’s), a wreath on the door, and real greenery in vases to get the smell. Most Christmas tree yards will give you little sprigs they’ve cut when you buy something.

Ha ha well we are kind of ridiculous, there is even a tree in every room. Now that we have new furniture we have to be a bit more creative this year.
Here are a few pictures from last year:

Our apartment isn’t that big, but last year we got a crazy deal on an artifical tree, it’s so beautiful! It’s tall and skinny, so it’s fits perfectly in our place. That’s about all we do though. Fiance hates extra clutter, so a tree and some scented candles is about as crazy as we get! Oh, and sheets, we have Christmas flannels, lol.

We always get a real Christmas tree from a tree farm and put it up in a corner of my apartment. It takes up more space, but the smell is amazing! We also put lights out on our balcony along with other more traditional decorations (wreaths, centerpieces, etc.). But the tree is always my favorite- you just have to remember to water it!

I like to keep it festive but simple. We do have a real tree. Every year I do something different on top of the armoire.
This year I have 3 silver reindeer heads from HomeSense. They look like this only stainless steel.
Last year I did three beautiful amarylis bulbs in white pots.
I add touches of red, white or green in the other rooms. We have a large feather wreath on the front door.
