Boyfriend and I aren’t HUGE coffee drinkers so we just have a small 5-cup coffee pot. I’ll make coffee for the both of us maybe once a month and then take a cup to work once a week for myself. I’ll get a Starbucks once every couple of weeks, and I’ll get either a vanilla latte or iced mocha. I prefer my coffee sweet, but not so sweet I don’t taste the coffee anymore!

sarathemermaid :  Is 12 cups per person?? Either way, this doesn’t sound healthy at all. When do you guys drink water? We have to drink at least one glass of water for one cup of coffee to balance the water retention. 😲

betyl :  We split the whole pot so it’s about 6 cups a person.

My husband drinks a lot of water at work and then sparking water at home. I make sure to drink at least 90 ounces of water a day. That’s how much my height/weight requires.

gray15 :  We have a tea kettle we use for tea, and for coffee we have a moch pot/perculator. Depending on the roast you buy, it can be pretty delicious. 🙂 I have a keurig as well, but it just sits there, so im going to give it to my little sis whos moving out to an apt soon.

Usually I use a Bialetti stovetop espresso maker like this and add boiled water to make an americano (and then add cream).

Or if I’m in a huge rush I have those Starbucks instant coffee packets. I usually bring a couple to work as well because the coffee at our office is undrinkable sludge. They’re about $0.75/per coffee so it’s more expensive than making it at home, but not as bad as buying it.

ETA – AH! Sorry for the giant photo.. it wouldn’t resize for some reason..

gray15 :  I drink Starbucks Pikes Place K cups with flavored protein powder in place of creamer. So yummy.

Supersleuth :  I mean there are a few different ways of making coffee, which is obviously what the OP was after if you read her post.

gray15 : We have a Nespresso, and I have to say that is nice for a quick fix. I don’t use it daily. I use a pourover technique, as I stated before.

If you do go with a Nespresso, make sure to recycle the pods. Otherwise, it’s awful in terms of generating tons of waste and pollution. Nespresso has a recycling program.

futuremrss17 :  Which protein powder do you use? I’ve tried to put unflavored protein powder into coffee and found that it tasted off. I’m curious to see if there are brands or flavors that might taste better, so figured I’d ask.

I drink my coffee black, no cream, no sugar, nothing.

I enjoy my coffee black from local boutique espresso bars in my city. We have a bunch of them which support local roasters. But if it is my office’s coffee pod machine, I usually have one of the flavoured (sugar-free) pods with two creams. Sweet drinks give me a huge headache.

I love all coffee all ways – I am not picky! Our best investment was a separate nespresso brand milk frother. It will do coconut milk, regular milk, heavy cream, flavored nut pods, even premier protein drink (chocolate / tastes like Swiss Miss)!  So at home I always froth the creamer du jour then add it to black brewed coffee. Top with cinnamon. Yummy. Out I usually get a triple latte, hot or iced.

ETA this morning was brewed coffee with frothed chocolate protein drink. I just add as much I would milk or cream.
