We eat in the living room with the TV on. Where we’re living now, we don’t have a table and chairs. The place we’re moving to next month will, but we’ll still probably only use them when guests are over. I like to watch TV with dinner to relax.

We eat at the dinner table pretty much every meal we eat together. We don’t have a television in the main living area of our apartment (just a small one in our bedroom), so there’s not really a temptation to eat in front of the TV.

IF we eat dinner together (DH works late on many nights and gets free gourmet dinner at work), we either eat at the coffee table or couch or wherever we want in the living room. We’re typically on our devices anyway – computers, iPads, iPhones, etc. I come from a very tech-y family where this was acceptable, and to be honest I don’t mind at all. When we have kids though, I may change my mind and ban devices at dinner 😛

I also grew up in home where meal time was family time. All phones were off, except if my mom was on call. And we all sat the dinner table and had conversation. My mom found it is hysterical that I’m so the opposite of how they raised me in every way but that I kept this.
When I’m home alone I eat dinner in front of my computer or television maybe fifty percent ofthe time. Even though I don’t cook a lot have easy things like salads or ceral I will set the table and sit down and eat dinner by myself. Fi actually prefers to eat in front of the tv but I gotten him in the habit of sitting down with our cellphones off, tv off, and sitting and enjoying each other company.
The only exception is if it’s football season and a game is on.
