@Kir32:  I eat it in an Asian salad… Raw ramen noodles, cabbage, almonds, etc. with a tangy dressing. YUM.

Doesn’t draining the water make it really salty?

@Kir32:  I’ve always had it like soup and a couple weeks ago I asked DH what he was eating and it was ramen with the water drained.. I tried it and feel like I’ve missed out my whole life! lol

Always like pasta! And FI likes the chicken flavor with Italian dressing mixed in. Haha

I drain most of the water, but not completely… I maybe leave 2-3 ounces to make a little broth, but it’s not at all soupy.

@Kir32:  I like hot ramen as a soup, but I love cold ramen as pasta. Regardless the flavor goes in before any draining. Far too salty otherwise.

Soup usually. The cold version is good in the summer though.

@Kir32:  Yepp. It’s great for going to work. Cook it beforehand, drain all but a little of it, then pack it and go. Leave it in the fridge till lunch and it’s awesome.

@Kir32:  I eat it like they do in Japan, with the soup along with other things. In fact I just had it tonight with egg, spinach, mung bean sprouts and green onions. And I slurp when I eat them (to eat them any other way is rude in Japan).

@Kir32:  i never saw anybody cook ramen until I went to college. When I was growing up we would break it up in a plastic bag and pour the seasoning packet on it, shake it up and eat it like that! I think my dad was just laZy… Now I always eat it as pasta with a scrambled egg and the rooster hot sauce, no seasoning packet!

I had a friend who just used to eat the noodles raw, straight out of the package.
