No other brides are going to be at your wedding so who cares how popular your dress is? I can bet you that there might be one guest (who would be a recent bride too) that would even have the slightest idea your dress is popular. I mean, if your sister wore it, then maybe not. But don’t not get a dress because it is popular on the internet.

Like everything else wedding-related, it is only popular amomgst brides, and only brides who frequent wedding blogs.

No one else at your wedding will have seen this dress.

If you find a dress you love, that’s your dress, whether it’s been worn by ten thousand other brides or just a handful. Trust me, nobody will be looking at your wedding photos thinking how common the dress is, they’ll be thinking how beautiful you look in it! 🙂

Ditto the PP who said a dress is only popular among the dress-obsessed.  Normal people will not recognize your dress!  I have been to probably 20 weddings in the past few years, and I had not seen a single one of the dresses before the bride walked down the aisle in it.  It was only after I started dress shopping for myself that I realized some of the dresses were very popular (La Sposa Fanal, Amsale Bijou, etc.).

ETA I don’t think the dress is simple at all.  I think it is stunning!

its beautiful and classic – i think that is why its so popular but remember its only popular in the wedding world. unless your guests are wedding bloggers or planning their own wedding I doubt anyone would ever know! Buy it!

@amandasf:  While I’ve had the same thought about the dress that I loving, I agree with everyone else. The majority of your guests aren’t obsessed brides like we are and won’t have seen it. And just remember that no one will have seen it on you.

I would say my dress is popular since it is part of the Vera Wang White Collection.  I am one of those brides that likes to be unique.  So I got the dress in blush pink, and I made it my own by altering the neckline and adding some pearls down the back.  I must say it rocks, and I rock it like no other so I don’t care if I have a ton of dress twins out there.  It just means we ALL have great taste! 🙂  Don’t think too much about it.  If you love it, then you LOVE it.  You will look amazing in it because you will be glowing…trust me!  Now you go rock that dress like no other too!

@amandasf:  That is a gorgeous dress and even I had considered it at one point. A dress becomes popular when it is lovely and accomodates many body types like this Lazaro. To be popular isn’t bad at all.

I would say the only time the popularity of a dress would deter me is if it was worn by many brides I knew/attended the weddings of and the same people would see the dress on them and on myself. For example, Adorae. I have been to three weddings with brides in this lovely dress and know of a fourth bride but could not attend the wedding. I have seen one other additional bride (five total) that wore that dress and was a friend of a friend on Facebook. That for me would be enough to avoid the dress since it was so popular and many of my friends/family have already seen it on more than one bride.
