I have a black sapphire ring, I love it but for my engagement ring I wanted a ” white” diamond, I love the sparkle and just always had that in my mind as what I wanted. Above is my black sapphire for reference.

Rings with black diamonds seem inexpensive on Overstock and there is a surprising range of them.

I think they are a trend that will be over by tomorrow.

I don’t like treated or radiated diamonds -which most of the blue/black diamonds you see at jewelry stores are. They are usually highly included brown/poor color diamonds that they zap to give a deep color which hide many of the flaws.

Natural blue diamonds are ungodly expensive, but you can actually buy natural black diamonds much cheaper than white diamonds. If I was in the market for a black diamond I would be sure to request a natural black diamond,  b/c too many out there are treated stones and many jewelers don’t tend to be very upfront about that fact.

@MsLobizon:  Well then, Dr. Jadlnc recommends getting one.

There you go, my diagnosis. ๐Ÿ˜€

And thanks for the compliment.

I have a black diamond and white gold engagement ring. I absolutely adore it. It has a vintage look which I adore. My Fiance picked it out by himself. I’m not very traditional and I love anything unique and vintage so this ring could not have been more perfect for me! It is 10k white gold and the center stone is a 1 carat black diamond. The band is pave style with 24 small black diamonds. The total carat weight is 1.25. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love the size as it is not small but not too big. I get asked all the time about my ring and I get a lot of compliments. Nobody has ever thought it wasn’t an engagement ring as it has the look of an engagement ring just with black diamonds instead of white. Black diamonds sparkle in their own way. I’d say they “twinkle” more than they sparkle but they are still very beautiful!

I’m not a fan – out of all the coloured options, my least favourite are black diamonds, chocolate, cognac, and the more ambery yellow ones.  I find I don’t really like champagne ones either, though I love morganite!

@vintagetacky89:  while I like black diamonds, I personally don’t think its fitting for an engagement ring just because it’s black. I do like other colors though

@s2bmrscook:  I really love your set!

@vintagetacky89:  I love color in wedding sets. Black diamonds are so gorgeous, IMO. I think they’re striking and mysterious.

@vintagetacky89 – Not my thing, solely because of lack of sparkle but some people could change my mind with their rings (looking at you @s2bmrscook)

I love black diamonds! My ring is a pink sapphire, and I could not be happier with it. It is just PERFECT for me.
