Interesting thread..;) I chose to vote ‘doing whatever I want whether trendy or not’.
I have to agree w. some of the comments made that a lot of what’s being considered ‘trendy’ for weddings is probably more considered that for the wedding blogs and not honestly as much for ‘real weddings’. I mean, unless a guest has been to a ton of weddings in various places where a lot of these ‘so called’ trends are being done…then ok…maybe. But still..so what? 🙂
Just so happens in my ‘research’ for fun/creative stuff for weddings these days that fauxtobooths, colored shoes, mini cake and cupcakes, etc. are out there…’trendy’ or not….I want to do those sorts of things (if I can) b/c it sounds like fun and it isn’t ALL traditional…looking for a mix…not just b/c it is or isn’t trendy.
To each her own..right? Making your day personal and what you’d like is what’s important..right? Regardless of whether it’s all tradition, all trendy, or a mix. 🙂 Enjoy! 🙂

I think there’s alot of creative women getting married and just when I think I’ve found an original idea and I GOOGLE it. I find someone else has done it already..lol
I dont care, if I like it. I like it. Plus some “trends” are just very cool ideas. Colored shoes? Awesome idea. It’s a way to inject a pop of “YOU” into your day (plus it looks gorgeous in photos)
Cake buffet. My MOTHER actually suggested this, and I’m thinking whoa..great idea and lo and behold..it’s trendy now.
And some trends are just a general shift in attitudes, traditions and personal preferences.
I love what my wedding is going to be. Trendy or not.

I voted “I will include what I like in my wedding, whether it’s trendy or not” but I guess it kind of depends on how you define trends.
I will most likely be wearing colored shoes, I’m making a non-floral bouqet (brooch bouquet) I will be doing a lot of DIY and I’m on the fence about some other “trends”. I’m doing most of these because I personally think they are fun and “me”. I’m also semi afraid that if I do anything that looks too “bridal” (for example wearing white or ivory wedding shoes bought at the dress shop), that I’ll have an 80s/90s cheesy looking wedding a la Father of the Bride.
On the other hand, there are some things I’m planning on doing, that if it wasn’t for reading wedding blogs I wouldn’t know to do them. Super popular or not, being inspired by other people’s blogs and ideas is following a trend of some sort. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s trendy.
Some of the other girls already made a comment that things that are trendy is the wedding industry or ~blogosphere~ aren’t necessarily real live trends. I’ve never gone to a wedding that had a photo booth and I’m sure most (if not all) of my guests hadn’t either. If I chose to use one, while it would seem ‘over done’ in blogs, it would be a brand new idea for everyone at my wedding. So really…I don’t have an answer at all haha!
