I was thinking of this sort of thing recently!  For a while I toyed with the idea of making my last name a new middle name for myself, but decided I didn’t want 4 names lol.  So, my last name will be our first son’s middle name 🙂

I say I like it. I came across some competition results for a horse event a year or so ago with a guy who’s first name (Wilder) is my maiden name. I had never thought of it as a first name but since then it’s stuck with me. I really hope it stays uncommon. My dad’s family has a long history, but his branch is down to my two brothers and me. They’re both unmarried and in the military for quite a while yet… so I want to carry on the Wilder name. Y’all don’t tell anyone!!

It took some convincing, but my husband is now thoroughly on my side to use it for a boy’s first name, his dad’s name as the middle name. We like the idea of giving honor names.

My mom has passed away, and we’re close to my Grandma and Mother-In-Law, but we have sort of “different” names for girls. I wish we wanted to use family names for them… we each have a cousin (his passed away, mine I still have an older sister type relationship) with a name we would like to use for girls. I’m so afraid they’ll become popular before we have kids!
