I think they should all be the same dress and color

I like having different style dresses but all the exact same color

I think they should pick what they want as long as it's within a color range

    It doesn't really matter

jmuffins5:  I think it all depends… I’ve seen it done absolutely beautiful, and I’ve seen it done incredibly tacky.

But it really works most of the time

I personally like it a lot

Mine are all wearing some shade of dark blue, I don’t care about pattern/texture/neckline etc. My only requirement was that it be in the range I gave them, and knee length. I want them all to feel beautiful, so really I don’t care what they come up with. I just want to see them all so that I can make sure they all look nice together. Here’s some ideas of what we are going for.

I did mismatched dresses – I gave my BM’s a range of purple hues to choose from and told them to get knee length dresses with flowy skirts. Maid/Matron of Honor aked if she could do a long skirt, and I figured it was okay since she’s Maid/Matron of Honor – she could stick out more from the BMs. Here’s the result:

I thought it was kind of funny that Maid/Matron of Honor was the only one who chose a light color – she really stood out from the BMs! I thought they all did a really good job of picking dresses, and I hope they’ll all wear their dresses again.

I have seen it look amazing! I think it is a really fun way to let moh/bm be comfortable in their dress. I originally told my bm and moh that we were going to do mismatching and only one was excited about it. Then I mentioned to Fiance that we were thinking mismatched and he said no way because he thought it would look silly with the groomsmen to be matching and the ladies to be different.  So, now we are doing same color and material but different designs.

I’ve gone back and forth on this. When we first started planning, I thought it’d make sense to have NOT all the same dress, since I live in Texas, and my four bridesmaids live all over the country, and have very different body types. Then I kept coming back to the matching thing.

Now I am really thinking same color, same type of fabric/length, but different styles. We recently decided our ceremony will be more informal, and my Fiance pointed out that different styles will help with the feel of that. But I think I need to look at a few more photos. Some of the ones in this thread I like, and others make me think maybe I should have them match! :p
