Obsessed! I’m biased because I’m going for a very similar look, but I think it’s stunning! As for your fiancé being wowed, he will he no matter what. I can’t speak for yours, but my man doesn’t pay much attention to detail so an embellished belt wouldn’t “do it” for him. I think seeing you as his bride will be what takes his breath away, regardless of what the details of your dress are

I don’t think that neckline will convert well. Not enough fabric (at the top) or structure in the bodice.

I love plain, classic dresses. I’d be a little concerned that the back on your dress is too low to be converted to strapless.

I have to say though, I think your original dress is beautiful, I especially love the back, I wouldn’t change it.

xcsgjx :  while I wont say it is impossible, this will be a seamstress’s nightmare. That whole bodic will have to be rebuilt and that low back doesn’t bode well… I’m sorry bee, I dont think it will work. Still go ask your tailor for your own piece of mind but be prepared for it not to be possible.

It’s your dress so ultimately your choice, but I LOVE your original dress. It’s so classic, timeless and beautiful.

You might also find that the straps are more practical on the day. I’m not a seamstress but if your dress wasn’t intended to be strapless, and doesn’t convert easily, you might be pulling it up/holding it in place all day.

I think the back on your dress is probably too low to make this work right, but I’m not a seamstress. Your dress is beautiful and I love it as-is. The low back combined with the buttons are my favorite part.

I really like this look. I love simple gowns that let the fabric, the workmanship and the woman wearing them really shine.

I’d add a gorgeous veil too.

OP, I would not alter that gorgeous dress!!! It is stunning as it is – classic, classy, just perfection!

I love the first one you posted, that was my runner up dress, I still see the pics sometimes and wonder if I made the right choice!

The second one you posted is beautiful, too, and funny because thats what I ended up with, so we had the same 2 choices but I chose the one with the straps because I wanted straps. I dont think you can convert your actual dress to strapless and have it stay up. I think your fiance will be wowed no matter what! You could always add some beading to the straps or a belt if you want more impact

xcsgjx :  Any dress you feel radiant in is going to knock him out. He’ll be looking at the whole you, not just the dress. I personally LOVE minimalist, classic gowns, and you can glam it up with accessories.

Honestly, I think a year out from most weddings, if you asked a lot of grooms to pick their bride’s dress out of a line up with similar dresses, they’d probably guess wrong, lol.

As PP have said, it’s not likely your dress can be altered to strapless, and if thats the case please don’t be sad about it because it’s a beautiful dress as is.  I mean it’s gorgeous 😍
