For the ceremony, how do you decide how long the songs are and how many to have?? I have 3 songs I love, not sure yet when or where to play them. We have the officiant, parents, Groomsmen (4) and groom, Bridesmaid or Best Man (4), flower girls (2) and my dad/self to walk down. How long should the songs be for each?

The length doesn’t matter. That is what the rehearsal is for so you can figure out when to fade the songs if they are too long. Most people go with the songs they love and don’t care about how long or short they are.

As a musician and sound designer, planning a song per group or person can be super tricky. You need someone who has good sound equipment and experience fading in and out, or is just very observant and quick with the next button. But unless you coreograph it like a dance, it can be tricky to do without pauses in music. Also, if you want a certain part of the song to play, you need editing equipment. I used to tell brides to keep it to two songs for the processional.

@ohmybears48: Thanks! I think whole songs will be OK, and we do have a professional DJ manning the music, so he is OK with fading as needed.
What abou thte song to play during the signing of the certificate? Should it be someting instrumental and non descript or something we choose, lyrical vs instrumental, or does it matter?
@Ember78: Thanks, just not sure how many we will need and how long they need to last. The song I want to walk down to is only 2 minutes long.
