I’ve reached a sticky situation with Fiance and I could use a little advice!
About 2 months ago, my dear Fiance quit chewing tobacco. I am SO SO proud of him, and I make it a point to let him know it. Since he quit chewing, he’s started to gain weight (probably 10-15 pounds). We knew that would be a side effect, but lets face it, it beats chewing (IMO). But now, naturally, I’m worried about his weight. he’s got a stocky build, which I love, but he also has high cholesterol and is showing signs of not getting healthier. An example would be gasping for breath when he bends over to tie his shoes, which scares me to no end because my dad is a heart attack survivor. I have switched most of our food to healthy versions of what we normally eat (but of course I only have so much control). He is starting to get frustrated and bummed out because he is gaining weight :(. I KNOW that if he would work out with me, he would feel 100% better, not to mention become healthier and more attractive to me. Not that he’s not attractive, but he is getting sort of withdrawn and doesn’t want to spend as much time doing things together because he doesn’t feel very fit. I’ve thought about contests between the two of us, and even bribing him with gifts or sexual favors (sounds bad, but hey whatever it takes), but I know he’s got to want to do it. Anybody have suggestions? Or experience?
I know its a slippery slope once you start to gain weight, because I have been down that road and back again, and I”m proud of where I”m at. I just want him to be healthy without me nagging him. Thanks!
