After I got my dress I STOPPED looking at dress posts. I really believe that it doesn’t matter HOW great something is that we have, if we keep looking at others, we eventually start to question our choice… thus the whole thought of “the grass is greener on the other side”.. which we know isn’t true. lol

Just stay away from the “dress” section and keep to posts that are relevant to things you’re still planning, need, doing ๐Ÿ˜‰

Stop looking is great advice.  Sometimes you don’t have the “know” feeling.  You just have to feel happy with your choice.  Once you have the whole package together.  You will be very happy.

OH WOW… I’ve actually never gotten that. lol

Glad that helped… I know that there was a period where I totally started questioning my dress, even though I had swooned over it for months before ever even trying it on and then it fitting me and my style perfectly…. STILL questioned… but not looking at other dresses really really helped!

Also, if it’s an option, get into it ever now and again just to reaffirm that “OMG” feeling ๐Ÿ˜‰

@runsyellowlites: I couldnt agree more! I think once you have found “the one” you need to stop looking. Just like when you met and knew your Fiance was the one, you didnt keep looking did you!? hehe! Its really hard NOT to love something else, or “doubt” yourself because there are going to be ENDLESS options, esp. the closer your wedding comes nad styles/seasons change! I purposely picked and purchased my gown, which would allow me NOT to change my mind. I paid off my dress in full as soon as it came in, and got the affirmation that it was “THE ONE” so I could no longer “second-guess” or “reconsider”. And Im glad I’ve stayed true/faithful to my dress, because I love it and it makes me feel beautiful inside and out.

So its easy, JUST STOP LOOKING. Concentrate on your next step, centerpieces, decor, make up inspiration, jewelry?! =)

I know all the advice says to stop looking but I can’t help myself – I just love looking at dresses!  I bought my dress more than a year in advance and can’t even begin to tell you the number of times I’ve had dress regret when looking at some of the beautiful dresses on here.   I’ve even gone so far as to google some of the dresses to see what kind of price I could get for them.

Ultimately, I just remind myself that I COULD have spent several thousand dollars on a dress that is gorgeous…. or I could remember how happy I was when I found my $600 dress that is perfect for me.  Personally, I would have serious dress regret if I spent a ludicrous amount on a dress I was only going to wear for 8 hours or so.   It would have solely been an impulsive decision and I take pride on being a rational person.

Another thing that helps me is to go back and look at pictures of me in my dress.  When I bought it, I knew as soon as it was slipped over my head that it was MY dress, before even seeing it in the mirror or having it zipped up.  Looking at pictures brings those memories back to me.  ๐Ÿ™‚

I also had trouble b/c I saw other dresses on the internet and tv. I thought mine wasn’t fancy enough b/c it wasn’t like all the others. But on wedding day I saw my dress and all those doubts went away. It was perfect for me, and my day, which is why I chose it to begin with.
