I am considering buying a used dress, and I see a lot of bees selling their gowns on these boards. I also see a lot of “retailers” posting about dresses that they are selling.
So how do you know which is real and which is a scam? Or do you? (I hope this question doesn’t offend anyone selling their gowns) Have we heard of anyone being ripped off here on the bee?

Well I suppose you can try to Google/search the Wedding Bee boards for any glaring critism of a certain seller. But that doesn’t always work. I think the best thing you can do is require that any pre-owned dress you buy arrives within 45 days of payment – and use PayPal. You can file a greivance with PayPal within 45 days so you have a little bit of protection.
Good luck in your search!

Thank you! I think the ones I am concerned the most about are the retailers who pop on and say they have such and such gown for a cheaper than in store price, but they have only posted on the bee a handful of times.

Actually escrow.com is far more secure, there is a fee but both parties are protected. We used it and all was well. My suggestion is look for a dress that a real person is wearing in the pic. Then its
Likely they actually do have the dress.
