Good rule of thumb…if you can’t meet the person in person…and they don’t have CASH to hand over…it’s most usually a scam and not worth the risk.

With that said, this sounds like a scam.

This definitely sounds like a scam to me, as well. Like KateByDesign said, if the person can’t meet face-to-face then it’s bogus.

Yeah, when they tell you that they “just moved to [insert foreign country],” and want to send you/wire you money/check/etc., it’s a scam. Bonus points if they want to send you MORE than the total so you can give them change.

Scam! I experienced something like this when i was trying to sell my car using paypal and I kept having weird feelings, so I contacted paypal and they told me don’t trust it. And if you can’t communicate with the person via telephone or in person don’t go with it.

I received the same email from a ruth825.  I’m getting ready to email to tell them paypal or nothing.  I bet I won’t get a response..

@bribar00:  I sent an email saying I would only accept paypal and I haven’t heard from them again.  Some things are just to good to be true.. Well good luck on selling your dress.

@bribar00:  I forget how it works, but the “I’ve just moved abroad and will arrange a pickup” line is a known scam.

I work in law enforcement. Please don’t do it.

Another rule of thumb, if it’s to good to be true, it probably is.
