@Ap2010:  …they don’t get all butt hurt if I can’t take the time to talk to them all the freakin time…sometimes, I’m lucky if I see one of my oldest and best friends twice a year, they’ve got their lives, I’ve got mine…if they needed me, I’d be there…but we don’t need to be in each other’s faces all the time.

@Ap2010:  They actually take time to ask you about your life. They don’t just talk about themselves.

This shouldn’t be something you have to hyper-analyze. With all of your posts about friends, and what they are, and how many people have, and how many are invited to weddings, etc, etc, I think you would really benefit from talking to a professional about some of these issues.

I guess it depends on your age, maturity level, and whether or not you have relationship issues. At the age of 25 and where I am in my life, I just know. Just because someone hits all the marks doesn’t automatically make someone a good friend…and just because someone is unable to hit all the marks doesn’t necessarily make someone a terrible friend either. It is highly situational.

Good rule to follow? If you have to ask, they probably aren’t.

OP, have you taken classes or talked with professionals about things like friendship? There are a lot of ways to learn about social situations and what is appropriate – but the internet is probably one of the worst places. Is there a school counselor whom you can ask about it?

I fear that you will be taken advantage of on the internet (and from pervious posts on other accounts, it sounds like you have).
