I like the dress you showed a picture of! It’s really beautiful. I found the dress about a week ago and my wedding is in four months.

My advice in picking the dress: look for pictures online to narrow down your search but be willing to try on several different kinds if only to rule them out for your body shape. Take only a few people whose opinion you appreciate (not the whole wedding party or your second cousins, etc) dress shopping can be overwhelming as it is! Be sure to take your time or schedule an appt. with the dress shop ahead on a less-busy time so that you will get the one on one attention you need.

When I found my dress, my mom bawled and had to go to the bathroom because she couldn’t stop crying….. lol. I knew it was the one for sure because 1. I LOVED it 2. it was what I was looking for 3. comfortable 4. fit my price range.

I honestly had it on for 5 minutes before I made my decision because it was obvious.

Did you try the Symphony Dress on yet and see it in person? I loved that dress as well until I saw it in person. The picture on line is very deceiving. The material is VERY thin and to me almost see through. And was surprised that the stitching seemed flimsy, like it would start falling apart. I LOVE the look and style of it, but just didn’t seem like a quality dress.

The Mori Lee I have seen as well and do like them a lot. Good quality. Yes it seems to have a Spanish flare but ONLY if your theme takes you in that direction. Otherwise I think the Mori is absolutely beautiful.

Just my two cents for trying on both of these.

@imbeautiful2c: I also have the Mori Lee 1606 dress! I had originally purchased a different dress last January @ David’s Bridal. There were many things that I wanted altered on that gown, so in March I took it to a salon to see if they had an in-house seamstress who could alter my dress. After I explained to the shop owner what I wanted changed on my dress, she pulled the Mori Lee gown off the rack….it had everything I wanted! I couldn’t leave the store without it…so there I was with 2 dresses!!  Luckily David’s Bridal allowed me to exchange my gown for 6 of my bridesmaids dresses & it worked out great.

You said you’re concerned with your dress not being appropriate for your theme…if it makes you feel any better, my wedding will be outdoors at a “farm”. It isn’t your typical farm…but it’s outdoors, the reception is under an open-sided barn with stained glass windows here and there & my fiance’s band will be playing in the saloon that’s connected to the reception area. It’s country and a bit sophisticated at the same time.  I think that as long as you feel beautiful in the dress, it doesn’t matter what your “theme” is. I will of course change into a different dress for the reception because theres no way I could dance in that dress as tight as it is on my hips …still not sure if I can even sit in it!haha   I’m also wearing a crystal sash with my dress.

HOpe this helps with your decision making! Congratulations on your up-coming wedding…happy planning!!

I wore this dress for my wedding last year and it was absolutly amazing and I felt so good wearing it. I was able to sit, eat and even do a choreographed dance in it. It’s very flattering as well. I’ve struggled with the decision to sell it but needs must and it’s now on ebay. If your interested or just want to see some more pictures have a look at the link below:

PS I don’t get the Spanish comments – I didn’t think that and never got that comment. I got married in beautiful country church and it fitted in great.

good luck
