MrsBuesleBee:  Tagging in to follow. I didn’t have an enagement ring but I’m not sure about the fit of my wedding ring. I naturally have fleshy fingers below the knuckle (jewellery store ladies agreed when I went to try on rings and get sized) so I feel like there is a bit of muffin top there. And the ring leaves an indent too..is that normal? I can get it off with a bit of tugging so I guess it’s good in that it’s not going to slip off on me or anything. If yours is sliding around I would be concerned!

MrsBuesleBee:  That’s how mine fits…a little snug and won’t fall off but it’ll rotate side to side sometimes. I like it that way.

When I first got engaged I was hyper-aware of my ring. But you eventually get used to it and sometimes have to check if you’re still wearing it lol

MrsBuesleBee:  Oh and I left mine home when we went out on a riverboat. If I dropped it at the mall there’d be a chance in finding it…in a river or a lake…no chance

I like mine a little looser. It took me awhile to get used to wearing a ring on that finger. I just got married like 2 weeks ago so I’m just getting used to having 2 rings now. I like my wedding ring a little more fitted than my engagement ring.

It sounds like you have the right fit to me. You’ll get used to it.

I hate ring love handles, so I opt for a looser fit. That said, you don’t want it too loose! I ended up getting my taken down 1/4 size because it would slide all over. I have bigger knuckles and skinnier fingers, so it wouldn’t fall off, but it was too much wiggle. It still wiggles now, especially when it’s cold, but it’s snugger. I also don’t usually wear it with a band- it will be snugger with a band so you might want to try it with one before you get it resized.

MrsBuesleBee:  mine is almost a full size too big but it won’t fall off (I’ve tried shaking my hand forcefully even when wet) I’m a 4.5 and my antique ring is a 5.25. It had the originally engraving (his grandparents initials and engagement date 1/14/46) It would be horrible to ruin it so I’m not letting the spin bother me!

MrsBuesleBee:  If you ever want to consider it, the soultion I used was getting a European shank. It required re-shanking the ring (I was getting it reset anyway), but my top heavy RHR ring never spins or flops now. It took a day or two to get used to the new feel of the Euro shank, but now I looove it! I really didn’t like the spinning!! My diamonds were always spun ’round to the underside of my hand and not on top where they should be if that makes sense!

I have long, skinny fingers after it gets over the knuckle part so no muffin top issues. I don’t wear my rings loose–that would drive me crazy. Fingers come in all different shapes and sizes though, so the best fit tips will vary from hand to hand! CONGRATS btw!!

MrsBuesleBee:  I think I remember that you and I have rings from the same place! My ring is also a little loose. When i am very hot or my fingers are swelling, it definitely fits a little more snug, but I can still fit it over my knuckle. in cold weather, the ring is very loose and rotates from side to side, but never all the way around (but I also don’t have skinny fingers!) I like mine a little loose to account for seasons and changes in my body temp!

I say try it on with your wedding ring! (Or go to the store midday -to take into account swelling and all – and put on something similar) then you’ll know for sure if it’s too loose. It honestly does sound as though it fits right tho. 🙂 enjoy!

leave it at home on your trip! DONT LOOSE THAT BEAUTY! also, it sounds like you have the right fit. I don’t really have the spinning problem since my ring is a three stone and weight is pretty evenly distributed, but I have RHR’s with that issue and eventually you won’t notice it!
