My husband and I recently talked about this. We both like our steak medium rare and are both thinking about ordering our next steak rare. We cook them, at home, a bit less than what restaurant medium rare would be. My sister likes hers “still mooing” aka very rare.

Medium rare is the way to go.

I’d vote “Medium” but that’s not a choice. Med rare is too rare and Med well is too cooked. I like the hot pink center that’s all bloody when you slice it. Sounds sick, but so so good.

Yum. Making me crave a nice medium rare filet from Ruth’s Chris.

I like it very well done. After it comes off the grill… I microwave it for 30 seconds. I love beef, but I do not like to see red flowing. Everyone just about dies when I microwave it, but I just can’t eat it otherwise!

You need to add medium to the poll since that is a popular choice.
I love med-rare, but miss it now that I’m pregnant. Been eating med-well during pregnancy but can’t wait to have a med-rare steak or burger again!!

Still mooing. LOL, not really, but more on the rare side of med. rare.

Well done! If I see blood, it becomes someone else’s steak… I am finished with it!

Medium usually, but I’m pregnant and ordered a medium steak the other day and couldn’t eat it, it completely turned my stomach. I had them cook it to slightly above medium well. Any other time though, medium’s my fav.

Depends on where we are…if we’re out at a nice restaurant, or my BIL’s house, rare. Most other places medium rare.

“Black and Blue” or “Pittsburgh Medium-rare” for me. Charred on the outside, and either extremely rare (blue) just between rare-to-mid-rare on the inside. Impossible to do at home because home stoves and grills just don’t get hot enough to char the outside fast enough, and I’d only order it this way in high-end steakhouses if I didn’t want to end up disappointed.
