What kind of detergent are you using? I like the Tide purple one or Gain. I think those smell the prettiest.

We have fabric softener and dryer sheets in the same scent, our clothes definitely come out smelling “pretty”. I used to only use the dryer sheets which still gave our clothes a “pretty” scent. We use Snuggles in case you’re curious 🙂

I love Arm & Hammer detergent.  My clothes always smell great without having to use softner or sheets.

I used to have this same problem and I use Tide Pods in the spring scent. Ah-maz-ing! Another thing I was doing was I was overloading the washer, doing smaller loads has helped hold in the scent as well. The pods are expensive, but so worth it. I will never go back to regular detergent.

OP All and Purex are both fragrance free I believe. So that may be why your clothes don’t have a fragrance. When my allergist was trying to figure out what was causing my reactions, he made me use those two brands.

Fabric softener isn’t as good for your clothes and isn’t necessary.

I agree that fabric softener makes all the difference.  I was stopped by a stranger once who asked me what fabric softener I was using because my clothes smelled nice.  I use the purple downy that’s lavendar scented.  It’s kind of a splurge, but I really like the way my clothes smell.

I agree with PinkMagnolia. Fragrances and dryer sheets are just chemicals, not good for you. We use natural laundry products, usually the unscented versions.

On a side note: Fabric softener will actually make your sheets and towels LESS soft!

I used to use Tide and my clothes never seemed to have a nice scent. Now I use Gain Apple Mango Tango and I love the way they smell.

I actually hang lavendar sachets in my closets and store in my drawers. So while the clothes come out of the dryer smelling plain- once stored they get a subtle sent. I wear fragrence sprays occaisionally so even clothes that I wear straight from the laundry will smell 🙂
