I don’t have much in the way of hair products, but I do keep my makeup organized. I have a HUGE collection of makeup (I used to want to be a makeup artist), but probably still not as much as you do!

I have a big train case I keep in the closet with most of my stuff in it. For the stuff I use everyday, I have a bag that zips up but folds out with many compartments for my eyeshadows, blushes, ectect that I keep in my nightstand’s drawer.

I have one of those little clear plastic storage things with the drawers…it’s Velcroed (that word looks weird, btw) to the top of my dresser so the cat can’t knock it down. I have one drawer for foundation/blush/concealer and my brushes, one for nail polish, and one for eye makeup and the like. I don’t have a ton of hair products–just some dry shampoo and my brushes and bobby pins, which also live on top of the dresser.

i have those storage drawers and i keep them in the bathroom linen closet. but i hate getting ready in bathroom too…i actually roll my stuff out and sit in front of my long mirror in our living room haha…that mirror might get moved to the bedroom when we move though. do you have a guest bedroom?

Fiance lives in a small one bedroom apt right now and i pretty much live there as well….i cannot wait to get our new place in exactly 1 month! that extra bedroom and bathroom will be clutch…my clothes alone fill up my dresser and chest..im thinking ill have to keep them in the guest bedroom.

I use a couple different ways to manage my hair/makeup:

-I bought a tall, plastic “dresser” type thing from Walmart that is white with clear drawers.  It’s maybe 3′ tall, 1′ across, and 2′ deep.  I keep it in my bedroom and use it for random hair and makeup stuff.

-I have a Trish McEvoy zip-up case that I love.  The nice thing about her makeup cases is that they have lot of little bags inside for storage, and you can get “pages” to put in the binder that are magnetic and hold magnetic-backed products like eyeshadow and bronzer.  I wish it was big enough to hold all my makeup, but then again, it would take up more space when I travel if it was bigger and I never pack light enough.

-I also bought some stackable bins from Target that I keep underneath the sinks in the bathroom and use for hair stuff.

I’m still very messy and I have hair and makeup products everywhere… I’m glad all Fiance has for beauty products is a toothbrush and a razor!

Awww, how come you can’t take the vanity?  Since we’ve been married, I use a vanity. I love it and have always wanted one. Makeup on one side drawer, hair stuff on the other. It’s helped me be organized. I put the rarely used makeup/hair items under the sink.

I have this vanity and stool set, and I love love love it. I used to keep all of my stuff in containers, but I would end up forgetting what I had, so most of it wouldn’t get used. We are both much happier now that I have some place to store everything. I still keep my blow dryer in the bathroom, but almost everything else is in the vanity.

I got an accessories organizer for $1 at target, and I hung it next to my mirror in the bathroom (you could hang one in your bedroom closet :)). I like it because it has tons of clear pockets that I can slip everything into, whether it’s a brush or eyeshadow.

@SoontobeMsL: You are very welcome. I spent months looking for a vanity that I liked. If you go to the sellers website, they do have more styles and also make sure to do a coupon search before you purchase. I was able to find a percentage off coupon when I searched, and then I called them to make sure that all of the drawers were working drawers and the guy I talked to gave me a discount on the shipping that was listed on their site.

I use baskets that I store in a couple of cabinets. Every day I take out the makeup basket and apply my makeup in the living room while I have coffee and watch the news. Hair products/accesories I keep in the bathroom in a cabinet.
