I plan all my meals and I'll tell you what I do!

I plan some meals, but not all of them.

I just go shopping and figure it out later.

    I don't do the shopping/ I don't cook

I plan our meals, Monday-Thursday every week, only dinner. Breakfast, lunch, and weekends we fend for ourselves. $60 gets us enough groceries for 2 weeks of dinners.

    I do all of this on Allrecipes.com :- )

On Sunday we plan what meals we want for dinners for the next week, shop on Monday, eat leftovers for lunches.

My FH actaully goes the grocery shopping and cooks.  I actually forget to eat if left to myself, which isn’t so good since I’m hypoglycemic!

It may sound a little nuts but we do different style meals… So like Friday is mexican food night.. And we try a new mexican food every Friday… Monday nights is italian food, we cook and try a new italian food. It’s something fun because I love different types of food and I love to cook.

I like your card idea also, I may need to try that with some of my  regulars.

I generally plan a few meals a week (a lot come from pintrest) and go from there. I also try to get whats on sale at the store and come up with something from that.

I like the “idea” of a meal plan but what happens if the broccoli or green peppers is on sale at the store $1 for 2… and you have already bought all your groceries for the week because of a “plan” and broccoli or green peppers aren’t on the plan?

I need to be better organized.  I do a bit of both, shopping based on the meal to an extent (usually only 1 or 2 days planned) and then just buying stuff and figuring out what to eat based on what’s around.

For quite a while, it was just me most of the time which lead to a few too many frozen pizzas or grabbing something to go.  Now that DH’s around more often, we’re trying to do more planning.  There will still be days when it’s like, hmmm, lets pull the chicken we have frozen in the freezer out, what should we do with it?
