When I am really stressed out (as I am right now), I cannot get my mind settled. I obsess and it is not healthy. I need to find a new way to destress. How you do relax?
When I am really stressed out (as I am right now), I cannot get my mind settled. I obsess and it is not healthy. I need to find a new way to destress. How you do relax?
I go for a run if I can. It helps me to clear my mind b/c I focus on my breathing. Even if you can’t get out for a run, taking a few minutes to do some deep breathing might calm you down.
I try to go for a run or make myself a cocktail and watch junk on TV.
I actually took a yoga class once. I found it so uncomfortable because in about 90% of the positions my arms and legs twitch! At one point my leg was just shaking out of control while I was trying to balance. Did this happen to anyone else in the beginning?
@heathaah: For me personally, I take 2 approaches to yoga. When I am doing it to tone up I push myself really hard and yes, my legs and arms will twitch (they especially did in the beginning!), but if I’m doing it to just relax I don’t overextend myself and just kinda comfortably stretch out. I feel so much better after.
@abbyful: I second the bubblebath! I light some candles, play some soft music and just soak in the tub for a while. It’s sooooo relaxing.
For me – tylenol pm and bed. lol. I really need to learn how to relax. I do go to the gym and go for walks and we go to the beach every weekened. However, I haven’t had that relaxed – ahh- feeling in a while. So I get you. I keep thinking of how behind I am with everything – from work to the wedding to home stuff.
