I would attach the comb just over the messy curls, where the curls meet the rest of your hair.  Personally, I don’t like the look of a veil attached under an updo.  With enough structure (and hairspray) built into the style, it would support a veil.

I would put it over the mass of curls.  When veils are attached under the hair, it looks a little dated to me.

You will need to put it above the curls since it is cathedral length. If you put it under, there would be such a high risk of the veil coming out. Your hairstylist will need to know about the veil (I’d recommend you bring it with you to your trial) so that she can make sure she puts enough structure in the hair at the top of the curls to hold the veil and to allow the veil to be removed without messing up the style.

Are you having your hair done by a stylist?  Take your veil with you to the trial run (if you’re doing one) and she can help you!  You could even alter the style a bit to make it work.

Here is a picture of my hair/veil.  I kept it on the whole night so my hair was kind of hidden but I loved the whole look.  The comb on the veil made it stay in really tightly so I didn’t have any problems.

I had asked for a hairstyle similar to your insipiration picture and my hair lady said that she needed to modify it a bit so that it wouldn’t fall out super fast.  So keep that in mind as well.
