emitchell456:  I don’t. He gets a closet in our “junk” room. Which is literally two feet from our room.

We have super limited closet and dresser space, so we split up the closet in our room evenly with our work clothes/clothes for that season and the dresser is split 4 drawers me/3 him. We move our winter clothes into the guest closet/dresser in the spring/summer and vise versa

He uses the closet in the spare bedroom a few feet down the hall. Both closets are the same size.

He actually prefers it. He wakes up before I do and that way he can get dressed in there without worrying about being loud or hiding in the closet to have the light on – he gets the whole spare bedroom to change in! Haha.

Until recently, we had never shared a closet. I always got the bedroom closet and he’d get he office closet. We had very small closets (like the size of a coat closet) it sucked. So we finally bit the bullet and did a huge closet remodel/addition. So now we share! He has about 4 feet worth of space and I have about 6..he doesn’t have a lot of stuff so it works out fine!

He gets about 1/4 of our main closet, and we had to buy him a stand alone armoire so he would have more space. Constant battles with the closet, I tell you!

Yeah– we each have our own closets.

Our last house, we had to share a closet.  Basic closets usually aren’t arranged with much thought– so at that house, hubby ripped out the one hanging bar and built a customizable shelving system using the stuff sold at Home Depot.  All said and done, the system cost about $400—  but money well spent!

Do you own or rent?  If you rent, ask your landlord for approval, though I don’t see why a landlord woukd object to such a positive increase to a property!

We split the closet close to 50/50 and each have a dresser. I also have the closet in our spare room (until December when baby #2 comes). We have three closets in our finished basement, one of which Fiance is switching over from storage to mine. One already holds all of my coats. FI’s fit n the normal coat closet.  I also have lots of clothes boxed up… I need to lose some weight to wear them.

I really don’t know how we make it work! Our condo is a mere 650 square feet. We have one normal sized closet in our bedroom that we both have half of (I have one extra shelf) and one in the front entryway for all of our outerwear/ shoes. We both have A LOT of stuff and no room for a dresser either.

Both closets are stuffed to the brim, albeit meticulously organized to make use of every inch, and we clean/ purge often. For example, I can purchase exactly 2 more pairs of shoes before I have to get rid of some to make room for new boxes.

emitchell456:  He gets the guest bedroom closet. He also gets the closet that holds the breaker box, out in the dining area. He gets full control of the garage. We both put our coats in the front closet by the front door.

We both share the shoe closet in the hallway. The only closet that’s fully mine is the one in the master bedroom.

We have a lot of closets, but they’re pretty small.

We have a small walk-in closet in our bedroom and he takes up about 2/3 of it, mostly with tshirts?! (I swear… tshirts as far as the eye can see… and more hidden in drawers elsewhere). I keep my weekend and causal shirts in there as well as store my summer/winter stuff in there during the off season, which isn’t much.

All of my clothes are in another room and that’s where I get dressed (I’m up at 5AM, he doesn’t have to get outta bed til 6:30, lucky bum! So to keep from waking him up…). It’s a much smaller closet and holds all of my work attire, purses etc. I have my chest of drawers in this room which holds all my undies, socks, pants, etc.

I definitely have the bulk of the closet space. We have a 4 bedroom house and one of the guest bedrooms has THREE closets (this was a major selling point lol). I have the master and the guest bedroom with three closets. We share one guest closet and he has the closet in his “man cave” room to himself. And I still have to pack and out away my off season clothes. I have some problems in the clothing, shoes, and nail polish areas lol!

He gets half, I get half. The dirty clothes bin, which we both use, is on his side, so I suppose I technically have an extra 2-3 cubic feet of space.
