I’m like your husband.  Switch my fork to my left hand, cut with my right hand, then switch the fork back to the right to eat!

I always have the fork in my left and the knife in my right. I’m left-handed and find that I can’t maneuver a curvy fork correctly with my right hand, but handling a straight knife is fine.

I was forced into righthandedness as a child and so for the most part I am righthanded. I don’t switch, totally pointless! Fork in right hand, knife in left and chow down!

I think this is one of those things that differ greatly between the US and Europe.  Growing up in Europe I was taught that it was rude to switch hands.  So although I am a righty, I cut with my right and hold the fork in my left and eat with the left. no switching!  I don’t think either way is more proper though.  Just what you’re used to.  But now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve seen people switching their fork after cutting.  Hmmm will have to keep an eye out.
