It’s totally normal! It took me a couple of weeks to feel like I was getting the hang of my job and the office environment. There are still days when I scratch my head and wonder if I know enough! You’ll be fine πŸ™‚ congrats on the new job!

It took me an entire year to feel comfortable in my current job.  It was different than what I had done for the previous 10 years so I felt like I had to learn everything.  After 11 years I’ve got it down pat now.  πŸ™‚

@canadian-b33:  Totally normal. It took me over 6 months to become somewhat comfortable in my job.. and over a year to feel confident in it.

Even people hired for executive positions have a learning curve. Some of the processes may be the same, but the subject matter itself must be learned.

I’ve been at my new job for a month and am starting to hit a groove. My boss is trying to hammer it into my head that I don’t need to try to learn everything right away, and that I don’t need to impress anyone… just need to learn my job and do well at it.

It’s tough when you’re used to being completely on top of everything and then switching to something completely new. You’ll get the hang of things πŸ™‚

I usually feel totally overwhelmed at the end of the first week – of every semester. New students, all those names to learn, so much work to build a class dynamic (and so many things that can go wrong and prevent it happening), always new adaptations to my classes that mean more prep time…

I think it’s normal. The first few times you perform any action, you do so more slowly, more deliberately – it takes more time and more energy and focus. After you’ve done it a few times you can start to do it more intuitively. Like finding your way somewhere using directions and then remembering how to get there, and then knowing without even thinking how to get there.

You’ll get the hang of it, don’t worry πŸ™‚

I think it’s pretty normal. I still remember the first week at my job, I was overwhelmed and very tired. It will get better you’ll see! Just hang in there πŸ™‚

I think that is normal. Every job I’ve had was always overwhelming in the beginning. It takes awhile to get into a comfort zone and feel like you know what your doing. Also, once you get to know your coworkers better you will feel better.
