Props to guys that orchestrate glamorous, elaborate proposals, because mine was the exact opposite.
We were at a family gathering at my aunt’s house (the house I grew up in as a child!) and husband dropped to his knee at the most RANDOM moment and asked me to marry him.
It wasn’t a planned fairytale proposal, it was super late at night, and it wasn’t expected at ALL. Even my husband said he hadn’t planned on it, but he just had a feeling as we pulled up to my aunt’s house that night.
That said, I wouldn’t have changed it for the world.

@maraschino: I was married once before, and there were no proposals or rings involved. Just us going to do the paperwork so my ex could have surgeries.
Having experienced that, I did ask for a nice proposal from my H. He knew I was looking forward to it, so he wanted to fulfill my wish. LOL I requested something nice! He did good.

We were in Yosemite National Park celebrating the New Year’s Holiday. We walked to the base of Bridal Veil falls and it was snowing like crazy. We were the only ones around….just us and a lot of white fluffy flakes. He got down on one knee in the snow (poor thing) and proprosed.
My first ring “porn” photo in the car. My hand was absolutely freezing as it would not fit into my glove.

My engagement was very unexpected.
My Fi and I had been together 5 years when he proposed.
We had been talking about it for a few months but he kept telling me he wasn’t ready yet. I was ok with it I had accepted that it would happen one day just not yet.
We then planned a trip to New Zealand in Feb this year to celebrate my 21st instead of a party.
When we got to New Zealand we hired a car and I started to talk about my friend getting married and how I couldn’t wait for us to get married, he got quite annoyed and told me not to talk about it for the rest of the trip. I was a bit upset that I couldnt talk about the one thing I wanted so bad but I didn’t want to ruin our trip so I let it go.
We arrieved in Frans Josef on the third day of our trip and we were stayed in a beautiful little hotel it was picture perfect. The next day was my Birthday and I knew what I was getting as I had picked it out a few weeks before, just a new purse just something to open on the day. (the trip was my real present) So we decided to go to the glacier at frans josef and it was a RIDICULOUSLY long walk! but once we were there it was beautiful. I was none the wiser that he was going to propose he wasn’t acting strange or different he has always been so good at hiding suprises. So we made our way over to a little waterfall away from everyone else and he pulled out the box with my new purse and said happy birthday, gave me a kiss and a hug and told me he would take me out to dinner that night.
He then asked if i had looked inside the purse, so I opened the coin compartment and inside was a little wrapped lot of tissue paper I couldnt believe my eyes when I opened it to find a beautiful white gold diamond solitaire ring I was honestly in shock I had to remind myself to cry haha! he then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
I will never forget it! Frans Josef is my new most favourite place in the world!
