In shopping for dresses many salons/experts recommend taking in pictures say of your top 5 dresses for the consultants to have a visual guideline of what features you are after.
As someone in the middle of designing a dress and therefore borrowing design elements from all sorts of dresses I am really interested to see what pictures you took with you and how do they compare to the dress you decided on.
Did you only have one dress in mind and ultimately decided on that one?
Did you only have pictures of ball gowns and end up in a sexy mermaid?
Or did you just what specific features (to be blush, corset, drop waist, organza etc) that you wanted?
Tell and Show Bees- I’ll be interested to see!

@justjade: I didn’t bring in any pictures and just told them to bring me things in my price range because I always heard that you end up falling for what you wanted least. I did think I would leave in a strapless ballgown but walked out with a lace A-line with nude colored straps!

I brought a few pictures and a few sketches I had done of the style I wanted. I loved the traditional and modified A lines, wanted flowy fabric, flower or lace detailing and corset back. The allure dress I ended up choosing was a fit and flare with floral embroidery with more sparkle than I had originally wanted and unfortunately no corset back

I wanted a drop waist… Here is what I had in mind:
but really I had envisioned a ball gown, however we’re having a destination wedding and I thought it would look all wrong on the beach. But then the store owner brought me this one…
I found this very funny, because when I ordered my dress, I didn’t realize it was the very same designer! I also took a picture of my dress at a wedding show accidentally- It was right behind a fit and flare I liked!
I thought fit and flare would flatter my figure better. My body shape is very similar to that of the model in the 2nd picture. Except I’m 5’4 and slightly more muscular. But the 1489 is so girlish and pretty! Plus it looks like a ball gown but is light and flowy. I just love it!
