I’m thinking about wearing spanx or some other kind of shapewear under my dress but I’m not sure about how they will fit. I’m concerned with them rolling down, feeling uncomfortable. I’m also concerned with pany lines or lines on the thighs where they end (I have bigger thighs).
Did you wear any shapewear? How did you feel in it? Did it leave any lines?
Thanks for the advice

Whenever I’ve worn spanx in the past, they’ve stayed in place (there’s rubber in the thighs and at the top of keep it in place) and I’ve never noticed any lines. I wore the ones that went halfway down my thighs though, so there wouldn’t be lines as noticeable as a pantyline.
Honestly, they don’t bother me. They feel tighter than pantyhose, but not much more. I’d suggest getting one, trying it on and check to see if there are any lines with your dress.

Most of my shapewear doesn’t leave lines on my thighs, but I do have one slip that does. You can only see the line when I wear a really tight and/or thin dress over it, though. Mine are all comfortable & don’t ride up.
I’ve found shapewear really varies brand to brand and style to style. You should go to a department store or Target & try on a few brands to see how you feel about them. When I went, I also grabbed a tight dress to try on over the shapewear to see what the slips would look like “in action”.

My shapewear is a high-waist, mid thigh pair of shorts kinda. Anyway, i wore them the other day to try on lots of rehearsal dresses, and the top kept slididng down. maybe they were two big. they didn’t roll, just shimmied down. the legs stayed where they were supposed to, but I had to keep pulling the damn things up. Now, i got one with no band in the front or around the legs because I was worried about the pinching line and they’re not Spanx Brand 🙂 Maybe I will try something else…. it would have been nice to have a little skinny rubber strip at the top of it to keep it from moving about. I have been on Weight Watchers and working out quite a bit, so maybe I won’t bother with them…. Or maybe some bike shorts with modified waist will do the trick… chaffing you know!

My Spanx fit really well, just make sure you get the appropriate size – don’t try to go down a size because you think it will hold you in more (although I’ve heard the stars wear multiple pairs of spanx, decreasing the size on the top layers!).
They don’t leave marks on the thighs or anything or make “muffin top” thighs. As for the top rolling down, just make sure you really hike it up when you put them on. I also slide the edge underneath my bra, and find that helps a lot.
