See this is how I wanted our families to react, but no can do, they were horrible about it.  You are very lucky!!  Your Dad sounds so adorable, I want a daddy like that. lol

Aww that’s great! My dad assumed we were doing cake and punch at the church like he and my mom did.

I’m also an only child and the only girl in my whole family (all boy cousins) so our wedding is kind of a big deal. My parents didn’t book my vendors or anything but they are graciously paying for half our wedding, which is beyond awesome. Everyone is very excited. So far I haven’t encountered any negativity and I don’t really plan to.

Neither of us are only children, and both of us are the second to be married out of our siblings. But our parents were still super excited! There were multiple toasts and my mom started planning the engagement party right away. My brother was pissed b/c he never got one!
