@Waitingbee57:  this is how it went for me: (we were married in a church)

1-DH’s parents walked down together

2-My aunt and grandmother (normally it would be your mom walking down escorted by someone but my mom walked me down bc my dad passed away)

3- Bridesmaid or Best Man & Groomsmen

4- BM & Groomsmen

5- BM & Groomsmen

6- BM & Groomsmen

7- Flower girl and Ring Bearer

8- Maid/Matron of Honor – by herself  – Best man will be up at the altar with your Fiance

9- YOU and YOUR ESCORT (Dad/Mom/other relative)

@Waitingbee57:  and you pick 2 songs- one for your bridal party and one for yourself

For ex:

my bridal party walked into Across the Universe and I walked into Can’t help falling in love

@Waitingbee57:  is it going to be an instrumental version?

There are so many songs you can pick, but it depends on what type of song you are going for. I think instrumental versions of popular songs are so elegant and pretty

@Daizy914:  Yeah, our processional order was very similar:

1- DH’s parents.

2- My mom and grandma.

3- The officiant

4- My husband

5- The five GMs (they walked down one by one)

6- The six BMs (they walked down one by one)

7- Flower girl and ring bearer

8- My dad and I

The wedding party walked down the aisle to a classical piece, “Queen of Shiva.” I walked down the aisle to Canon in D, which is a pretty classical processional piece. But you can choose anything you like!!

Etiquette Snob here… lol

(As in I know too much about this topic)

Your Processional Order can be somewhat dictated also by what Religion / Denomination you are…

So before I answer your Question it would be useful to know that tid bit.

Is your dad walking you down? Are both sets of parents still married?

@Waitingbee57:  its a very nice song, I love that song.

You have so many options. if you want, take a look at penguinweddingmusicny.com

I used them for my wedding, but this is just so you can see their song list, maybe this well help narrow down a song you want to walk in to

this is how our processional went:

husband’s grandmother (escorted by my brother in law)

my grandmother (escorted by my brother)

husband’s parents

3 bridesmaids

1 flower girl

me and my parents

my husband and groomsmen came in from a side entrance and were already waiting at the altar

and you don’t have to choose 2 different songs if you don’t want to. there was a thread here recently about that and a lot of brides choose to just use one song for the entire processional. i used 2 (jesu, joy of man’s desiring and canon in d), but it’s whatever you want!

You can really do it anyway you want, but this is probably the way I would arrange it:

FI’s father
FI’s mother and husband
Your father + wife
Your mom + stepdad (have stepdad seat her and then go back to escort you down, or you could just have an usher do it)

Flowergirl + ringbearer

You and stepdad

I have 5BMs, 5GMs, 1 Flower Girl, 1 Ring bearer, 2 sets of parents on each side.

How does this work. Never really been to a wedding to judge this. Also how many songs should I pick?

how ever many you want, you can do it how ever you want, nothing is written in stone,

a few options:

  1. You can have his parents walk in first (both sets- i would say the father first then the mother)Then have all the guys walk in, then the ring boy then Fiance. (basicly all the guys) Then your mother with her SO,Than all the Girls, then the flower girl, then you with your father.
  2. Have his dad/SO walk in, than your mom/so, then his mom/so or in any order?? then all the grooms men then Fiance then the girls and depending on the age of the girl/boy have them walk together? if a little older boy first then girl then you and dad
  3. you could have everyone walk by them selves ? it takes a bit longer but its a wedding…

i would talk to your musician and see what they can play for music and such, the parents and party can all have the same. you should have your own… (hope this helps)

my wedding partty is going in all weird…. my ceremony is on a platform and around water i dont want the girls to fall in so im having my bridesman and his one brother heping the girls onto/off of the platform…(thats why them 2 are going in first) but they will stand in the normal positions during the ceremony – bridesman on my side and his sister on his..

1. MY bridesman goes in first (Bm) he is stainding on my side

2. Fiance brother (GM)

3. Fiance sister (GW) – she is standing on his side

4.Fi brother (GM)

5. Fiance bestman

6. Fiance

7. My girlfirend (BM)

8,My sister (BM)

9. My MOH

10. then me all by my self
