My mom’s ring is totally different.  Pear shaped with two little diamonds on the side, maybe 1/2 carat?  And that’s her “second” engagement ring.  Her first one was a chip.

Mine is an almost-carat Tiffany-style solitare.

My Mom and I have completely different rings. I don’t have a picture of hers (yet!) but this is just about it (hers is set in yellow gold). I have a cushion cut halo set in white gold…so very different!

My mom just got engaged. We haven’t compared engagement rings, but mine is a 1ct almost perfect round brilliant solitaire. Hers has a princess cut center stone, about 1ct, with baguette side stones. My center stone is a lot brighter and more sparkly, but I’m sure hers was more expensive overall!

Mine and my mom’s are really similar! They’re both yellow gold, round cut, and six-prong set–my stone is a little bigger than hers, though. But I didn’t choose my ring–it was my partner’s grandmother’s ring. The ring I liked best when I was looking was much different–white gold with a very small round cut diamond set into the band.

My Mom and I have polar opposite tastes in pretty much everything, and our rings definitely reflect that. She’s on her 4th setting in 33 years of marriage. This one is yellow gold, 3mm, with her original main diamond (somewhere around 1 carat), 4 prong setting, lots of diamond and ruby side stones clustered together, and overall gaudy looking to me (sorry, Momma!). The setting before this one was a yellow gold solitaire with 2 very blinged out yellow gold, prong set, diamond wraps in a wave-ish pattern that she had soldered together. Again, way too much for my taste. My ring is palladium, 1.5mm, with a Tiffany-style 6 prong set .94 carat center diamond and 2 bezel set .2 carat side stones that are flush with the band. It’s very classic, simple, and understated. It’s very me.

I’d say somewhat different. They are similar in that we both got diamonds and my mom’s original ring was a solitaire, as is mine. Otherwise they’re totally different. I don’t have photos of my mom’s first ring (which was stolen) or her anniversary ring which she wears now… but I found pics online that look very similar.

Her original engagement ring was very small (1/4-1/3 ct prob?) round in a swirly yellow gold setting. Kinda like this.

The ring my dad got her for their 29th anniversary, which is what she wears now is a 3 stone oval ring set in yellow gold. It is huge and beautiful, very similar to this.

My ring is cushion cut in a pave platinum setting.

My mom had a round solitaire with a yellow gold band for ~35 years, then added a wrap to it (side stones) a few years ago. I have a white gold round halo with a pave band. Pretty different aside from the round diamond!

ours are totally different! mine is a round halo with twisted sides, 1.5 ct white gold. and hers like a wide yellow gold band with a marquise diamond i think around .40 ct? I dad bought her ring in a antique shop 28 years ago, so I know her ring is really old!
