I purchased my dress mid-may, but started looking for it back in November 2011. It’s never too early to go dress shopping. ๐Ÿ™‚

@Pokemon: I started dress shopping a a year and six months before reaching a year prior to the wedding. I wanted to check out different styles and see which ones fit best on me. On my second appointment, I found my dress but I didn’t order it because I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t regret it later on since I had so much time before the wedding. A year prior to the wedding I went with my mom and Future Mother-In-Law to order the dress I fell in love with on my second dress appointment.

By The Way, we will have the same wedding anniversary ๐Ÿ™‚

Our wedding was in Sept 2011, I ordered my Anjolique dress in late Nov 2010, and it was in around April 2011.

I got my dress 11 months before the wedding… I picked and ordered it before I even had a reception place picked out. Looking back, I wish I had take a bit more time trying on things… I ordered from the first place I went cause I wasn’t really aware that I had other options.

And they told me to order it sooo early… and then it sat in my house for like a half a year. I don’t know why they were so insistant that I order early?

@Pokemon:  Thats so lucky for you! I got mine at DB and they kept calling to have me pick it up… and when I did I pretty much had to take it to my parents to keep my grooms eyes off of it. But my parent’s house is currently a pet bonanza. So I spent a lot of time both worrying that it was going to end up smelling like dog, and secretly hoping that the dogs would eat it so I could just go pick a new one (i wasn’t really a fan of my dress if you couldnt tell lol).

It all worked out ok in the end, but it was a lot of unnecesary worrying. I wish they had offered to house it for me.

I bought my dress 6 months out at a sample sale. I think most dress stores suggest you start looking at about 9-10 months out and order at 8 months out.

I bought my dress super early because I just fell in love and had to have it.  End of December 2011 for a March 2013 wedding.  It came in this past August.  (And I still love it!)

You should turn this into a poll! ๐Ÿ™‚

I got mine 13 months out, and since it’s a sample I just had to take a few weeks to pay it off. It’s now sitting at FI’s aunt’s house waiting for me to put it on again.
