I bought a onesie to surprise DH with when we got the BFP, and I’ve bought a couple other outfits since then. I’m 8 months today, and we don’t know the sex of the baby, which has been SUPER helpful in me not going crazy and buying every cute outfit I see. We had showers at 5.5 months and 6.5 months, and started buying furniture in between.

I had stuff for the baby before I even got pregnant. We tried for a long time before getting there. Lots of gender neutral stuff, between my sisters, and mom its crazy. We are doing a gender reveal tomarrow. The I know the baby stuff will come pouring in from my family. Also plan on doing our regristy soon.

I think we waited until about 20 weeks, maybe more. We knew the sex and we knew we didn’t want to buy too many clothes because we were getting a lot from family. We also knew we were getting most of the furniture from family so we didn’t really buy anything, except for a car seat and ergo carrier.

We bought a gender neutral something at about 6 weeks but we started buying LOTS of things at 13 weeks. Ever since then it’s something like every time we go out. It’s bad. But so fun!

mrsc416:  Haha I thought the same as your DH with the having a boy first. We had a girl (team green) and I can’t imagine not having my sweet little girl now. Terrified for teenage years though! Haha

I don’t think it’s ever too early to buy stuff! It’s exciting times! Our first purchase was a change table at 6 weeks. My family and DH’s bought us almost everything else. We were 100% ready for the baby by three months. I’m a crazy planner lol

After we found out what we were having at 20 weeks (with our first)

For our second, we started buying right away. Just things we needed to replace, get more of, nursery items

mrsc416:  19w and we still don’t know gender but we look around constantly! πŸ™‚  We only bought 1 onesie so far in celebration of making it thru the 1st tri, but have decided to wait a little longer.  Our family got us a few little things too.  We did start a registry though (still on private mode so we can wait until we know gender, and do some more research on gear, etc) for the basics that we can do gender neutral. I have been looking at baby stuff FOREVER but once I actually got my bfp I got weird about ‘jinxing’ things or something, so I havent bought anything else.  I think once you start to feel comofrtable (or if there’s a great sale!!), just go for it! πŸ™‚

Kacie209:  Touch bases with Amazon. I saw someone on another forum post that same deal and hours later found out it was a scam and Amazon removed the listing.

We are 12 weeks and the only thing we have bought a crib, mattress, and gender neutral sheets. Regardless of boy or girl we will get most of the clothes as hand me downs, so I won’t even shop for those. If you want someone gender neutral then why not?

I bought a few small things at 13 weeks but nothing significant until after my 20 weeks anatomy scan was done along with genetic testing.

We laybuyed a cot/dresser set while we were ttc πŸ˜‚ It’s worked out well though because we’ve had 9 months to pay it off. We’re picking it up this month πŸ˜„ We bought a few gender neutral clothes before we knew bub’s gender but now we know we’re having a girl we’ve started buying lots of pink things 😊

As soon as I got a bfp I bought a gender neutral onesie. It just kind of made it feel more “real”.  Plus it gave me an actual reason to be in the baby clothing section, a place where (in my mind) only the super lucky people who were in the most elite of clubs got to shop, haha! πŸ™‚

as soon as I told my 2 closest gfs I was pregnant they bought me a whole bunch of congratulations presents haha.. But I did wait til after the baby shower to purchase items I needed, but I was glad I waited. I received basicially everything needed during my baby shower.. but it’s still nice to buy something for Bub personally from you.. 😊

Last trimester, except for a single gender neutral outfit I treated myself to early on on help it feel real

My first daughter spent most of her early months in blue babygros (onesies) as we were broke and friends with two boys kindly gave us a lot of hand-me-downs. I always preferred DD1 in pale blue anyway as it suits her colouring.

I didn’t buy anything for baby until after my 20 week anatomy scan when we found out the sex. But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with starting earlier. It seems like every shopping trip (at almost 31 weeks now) I’m bringing home something new for baby!
