@Merelton:  At 6DPO yes it is too early. I would wait until 10DPO at the earliest and use a FRER as they are very sensitive.

I got my BFP at 10DPO and it was still pretty light.

@Merelton:  From all of the other boards that I’ve been active on– you likely won’t see a positive result until at the earliest, 9 Days Past. And thats even a stretch– implantation doesnt necessarily occur until 8-9 DPO at which time the hormone is just being released (and can then begin to build for detection by HPTs)

That being said, I know the feeling of wanting to know– so my suggestion would be to order some cheap-o Wondfo tests from amazon so you don’t feel guilty wasting tests… because tests are EXPENSIVE!

@Merelton:  I took a test the day my period was due.

I shamelessly took one at 10DPO…and another one each day until 14DPO, when I got my period. Next cycle, I’m waiting until my period is late.

@Merelton:  Just know that Wondfos are NOT very sensitive. If you are hoping to test early again I would recommend First Respose Early Results (FRER). When I tested I didn’t get any type of pink line on the Wondfo until 14DPO and it was soooooo light. It wasn’t until about 16 DPO that I really got a line, a good line on a Wondfo.

I got a good line on the FRER at 11DPO. Below for examples (top is 14DPO):

@Merelton:  The problem with the cheapies is that they are not sensitive so you probably won’t get BFP at 10dpo. You may get it on an FRER though. Based on my research you’re most likely (87% approx I think) to get it at 12 dpo.

@Merelton:  I got my BFP 8 days after Fertility Friend predicted ovulation, 10 days after my first positive OPK. Here’s what it looked like.

Here’s a cheapie from when AF was due, 14 DPO.

I had to go back through my profile history because my BFP was so long ago. Fertility Friend says I was 9DPO, but I think I was 10DPO when I got my BFP on a dollar store cheapie. I then bought a FRER and it came back positive 3 times. lol

I got my BFP at 12DPO, but it was so light I almost didn’t see the line!

I would wait till after AF was supposed to be done. Sometimes if you take a test too early your pregnancy levels aren’t enough to detect .

I took the test the day before my expected period date.

The first month we were trying I took three tests in the week before my period and they were all negative. After that I waited until my period came, I didn’t want to see anymore BFNs and told myself the next time I take a test it WILL be positive! Our fifth month trying my period was about 2 days late (I don’t temp, but it was CD 31 and my cycle is very rarely that long) and got a super dark BFP!! I’d been having cramping for three days but no period which had never happened to me, plus I was bloated and extra hungry; however, the only symptom I ‘trusted’ was the cramps. I recommend waiting because that was what I did, but it’s really up to you. Good luck to you and hopefully you get a BFP soon!
