Ok so my girls started decorating the night before Thanksgiving for Christmas 8 years ago when we were prpearing to celebrate our first Thanksgiving in our own place (we had only just moved out of my parents house that summer of 2008) (it was only me and my 2 girls then, now i have three). It all started when my then 11 yr old and 8 month old had to run into Wal-Mart with me to get something for Thanskiving dinner the next day…well, the 11 yr old saw the artificial trees and wanted so despaertly for me to buy one…my heart warmed with such anticipation for her that I couldn’t say no to her, and so as a tradition we kept alive, we decorate every year for the Holidays the night before Thanksgiving.
How about you?
When do you begin putting up your Holiday decor?

I wait to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. I like to make sure that Thanksgiving gets its own day (hello, that holiday has the best food!) and, at least in my home, isn’t overshadowed by Christmas stuff.

I usually start my Christmas decorating the weekend of Thanksgiving. We go that Saturday and buy a tree. But since this is the first year as a married couple, DH and I will be in OUR house for the holidays I’m sure my stepdaughter (9) will want us to start way earlier! lol

If my husband could he would start decorating for Christmas weeks ago but I make him wait till the day after Thanksgiving. He’s already started listening to Christmas music…..

In Italy is considered bad luck decorating before 8 december (the Feast of the Immaculate Conception), so usually 8 dec. is the day in which everybody adorn.

The only holiday we decorate for is Christmas, and we don’t put up any decorations or get the tree until the day after thanksgiving.

At my parents’ house we used to decorate while eating leftover turkey sandwiches ..I used to look forward to that more than Thanksgiving itself sometimes haha. Now, my husband & I (mostly me actually haha) just decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving with beer and football.

We usually decorate a little bit before Thanksgiving, but we’re also typically out of town for a month in December, so we like to get things up early so we can appreciate them before we leave, lol!

We do not decorate till after Rememberance day (Canada, Nov 11th)

I’m one of those Christmas nuts, so I start decorating for Christmas after Halloween. I wait to put up the tree till right before Thanksgiving, though!

It varies, but a one holiday at a time kinda thing. Christmas lights might be up on the house as doing so later is more difficult due to snow & ice, but otherwise we don’t have Christmas stuff up until after Remembrance Day and it’s typically closer to Dec when we start.

I like to decorate the weekend right after thanksgiving. This week we are traveling for thanksgiving and going on vacation right after so it’s going to be a few weeks after.
