We taught “back to sleep” and “on your mat” when he was a puppy. He learned really quickly that he can’t bother us until the first alarm rings at 6:15. Unless there’s something wrong, he doesn’t wake us before the alarm.

Our rottie will usually wake us up around 7ish or so, Im gone by that time during the week so Fiance takes care of him. On the weekends he will start barking around 8 or so and im usually up by then so I take him out.

During the week, I get up at 5am, and our 7 pound dog doesn’t want to be bothered.  Lol

Weekends however, he makes it until about 7-7:30 before the whining begins.  Wish he would sleep later, but I can’t really blame him since he’s so small.

My puppy doesn’t really wake us up. He sleeps in a crate next to our bed and even if he wakes up before us he will stay quiet butI usually let him out around 8 or 9. If my husband works he will let him out earlier then go back to bed so I can sleep more.  Earlier than that would kill me! I am not a morning person.

Fiance is lovingly woken around 5am, mostly because that’s when he gets up on weekdays for work. The weekends for him are NOT fun!

My dog sleeps in his little bed beside ours until we get up.

Luckily my pup will sleep as long as I will. If I stay in bed untill 4 o’clock, he is sitting right at the bed waiting for me to wake up.

She doesn’t wake us up anymore. She used to wake us up at around 7am but now she sleeps until we get up (sometimes 930-10am). I get up for work around 5am, so I let her out, feed her breakfast and when I leave I send her back to bed beside Fiance until he gets up. But on weekends she sleeps until the first person wakes up.

She just turned a year a couple of weeks ago. We also taught her “go to bed” so if she does get up for some reason and whine (sometimes she does if you’re rolling around in bed in the morning) you can tell her that and she knows it’s not time yet.

I come downstairs to make coffee and my dogs each look at me like “wtf i was sleeping go away” and then they put their heads back down.  I cannot relate.

Mine won’t bother trying to get me up until my alarm goes off at six.  Then it’s time to get. up. now.  On the weekends he’ll stay quite until 7:30 or so.

There wasn’t an option for us!  Sometimes she wakes us up, sometimes she’s got a case of the snoozies and doesn’t wake up until 9ish.  If we have people over she’ll do this yawn-scream thing louder and louder until we get out of bed.  She’ll also shake her ears so they make this loud flopping noise and bang her tags.  A few time’s she’s just put her face on the edge of the bed and nosed my nose and just stared into my eyes as I woke up – quite possibly the BEST way to wake up!

Our two will wake up between 6 – 7 or later on the weekend. BUT the oldest tends to wake during the night at least once if not twice for bathroom time :S

I SWEAR she is preparing us for when we have kids!

Between 6-7am our dogs start getting restless and telling us it’s time to wake up.

They are pretty good that if we tell them “bedtime!”, they’ll settle back down for another 30 minutes or an hour. Then it’s REALLY time to get up in their minds.
